Student Advisory Group meeting 7th February 2008
Suggested and discussed an option of offering different stages of participation in the late night learning sessions. For example, for a senior student who has already participated in a simulated scenario, offer a new, more advanced session so that a student can progress through a number of sessions.
Medical students have expressed a need for supervised sessions throughout the academic year, not just before the exams. Can this be taken up with Doug Lothian?
Request to make medical OSCEs sheets available on the clinical skills centre website.
Student nurses would really like to have a clinical skills check list which has been replaced by portfolios. The check list will improve students’ confidence; will be good for setting goals and checking the progress. Speak to Maggie Nicol.
Again, suggestion from Natasa Perovic, CETL Learning Technologist, to make learning materials together with students (videos, etc)
Medical students would like to get access to database of heart sound if one exists. If it does not exist, can it be put together using the CETL seed-corn funding? (Ro) Possibly use Harvy for that purpose.
